About

This On-line Self-paced Training Program focuses on HSAC Recommended Practice (RP) 161 "New Build Helideck Design Guidelines", which provides a basis for planning and designing new helidecks (including facilities currently without helidecks), commonly called “new builds”, for all offshore facilities except mobile offshore drilling units (MODUs) and ships that have defined codes / guidance. It includes safety guidelines, design load criteria, helideck size, marking and lighting recommendations, and other design recommendations. During this program, you will walk through the decision steps for designing an Offshore Helideck using HSAC RP 161. Additionally, you will be made familiar with the guidelines in the HSAC RP 161 setting you up for success for either designing a new helideck, or modifying a legacy helideck. Any student is welcome; however, the following groups will have the most benefit from completing the program: - Helideck Design Engineers, - Aviation Managers, - Helideck Inspectors, - Helideck Team Members, and - Offshore Helicopter Pilots. The program will be available for a period of 90 days in which the student needs to complete all program steps. This maximum timeline has shown to stimulate completion of the program. Upon completion a Certificate of Completion will be provided; however, no partial credit will be given if the program has not been successfully completed within 90 days. Come join the training program to add to your professional education!
